The Metadata workshop provoked much discussion in the field of information about information. The group discussed and edited a list of metadata fields that had been proposed by the workshop held at BIMF 2008.  Particular progress was made when authorities within the Provincial Government of the Western Cape pledged to present the workshop’s findings at their own metadata workshops.  A number of other organisations contributed other very useful sources of metadata information and metadata examples.
